Hope 4 All UHM, a community with a vision and mission to act
We treat each other's journey as sacred, even when we may disagree, for the path has brought us to the same end -- to be a loving, compassionate human being and to be part of making the world a place where all of humanity and all creation are treated with dignity and worthiness.
Donna graduated from United Theological Seminary in New Brighton, MN in May of 2012, with a Master of Divinity degree and a concentration in Peace and Justice Studies. Donna has been actively involved in ministry since 1984, but her spiritual journey has seen many changes throughout her lifetime to bring her to this place in time. Donna's background is in the Christian tradition, but having felt a strong call to interfaith ministry for the last 10 years, she has been involved in several interfaith organizations. Through this work, she sensed an even stronger call to start an interfaith community where people from all traditions, spiritualities, beliefs and experiences come together to learn from each other and honor the spiritual journeys of each and every person. Hope 4 All UHM is the culmination of this calling. Her deepest belief is that regardless of our religion/faith/spirituality, we are all called to the same basic idea -- to love one another, treat another with respect and dignity and to live compassionately in community. "The Golden Rule" -- to treat others the way we ourselves want to be treated -- will guide our journey as a community.
Ryan was born in a small rural community that allowed him to grow into a person of understanding and love. He always knew that he wanted to help others and provide love and support. Ryan went to Concordia College in St. Paul, MN where he studied Religion and Business. He did not graduate, due to a tragic event in his life, but he gained valuable knowledge and experience. He has 5 years of leadership experience as a spiritual growth minister and deacon with several churches. His path is very similar to Donna's in the Christian tradition, however he felt a strong calling to help youth that have addictions and those at risk. He has a strong sense of social justice. He has always been driven by treating everyone with love and firmly believes that all people need to put their differences aside and just simply, "love one another".
